Miami is known for its superactive nightlife. No matter what your nighttime needs are, there is a perfect area for your style, your drinking options, your musical tastes and the desired atmosphere. You will find all the glamor and ostentation of the world-famous South Beach clubs, the hidden fashion retreat of Midtown and Wynwood, the nightclubs overlooking the Downtown Miami River and some long-standing places scattered throughout the city.

SOUTH BEACH

Let’s start with South Beach. Here you can find an elegant and ostentatious disco atmosphere, lovers of international parties and world-class DJs with fans that swing to the beat. The disco atmosphere of South Beach is what made the city famous for its parties. The South Beach nightclub scene continues to gain strength. At present, there is an influence of electronic music from the stage of European discos, but Miami has long been an influence of electronic music due to the internationally acclaimed annual event Ultra Music Festival. The nightclubs comprise a wide range, from live music clubs to mega structures with many sectors that display different musical styles. Visit LIV, Mansion or Set if you want to try the traditional bars of the South Beach nightclub stage.

If going to nightclubs is not your thing, South Beach offers nighttime entertainment of all kinds. Try visiting a discreet brewery or cocktail bar at a hotel (The Catalina), a poolside bar, The Standard or The Raleigh or a trendy lounge with ping pong tables. South Beach receives night characters from all classes. If you walk along Collins, Ocean or Washington Avenue, you will surely find some cozy place to rest and hang out (and maybe even have some cocktails).

MIDTOWN Y WYNWOOD

Midtown and Wynwood (the thriving, changing and art-centric neighborhoods of Miami) inaugurate new nightlife venues all the time. If a visitor drives through the streets, they may not think that this place is an active metropolitan center of nightlife, but when the sun goes down and the doors open, you will find some of the most elegant fashion spots. Part of the charm of the Midtown / Wynwood area is that the spaces are somewhat hidden, almost secret and partly clandestine. When you discover them, the premises range from the pleasant wooden tavern (Wood Tavern) to the party space with a giant gallery (Caffeine) or the comfortable and hidden living room with live music (Bardot). If you want food and drinks to start the party, visit Tapas y Tintos or Gigi.

DOWNTOWN

Downtown Miami is one of the oldest areas in Miami and you can always have a happy hour after work that runs until the wee hours of the morning. Tobacco Road is a stop worth doing if you are a history buff who likes to drink beer or cheap cocktails. Tobacco Road, the proud bearer of Miami’s number one alcoholic beverage license, is an old favorite bar with excellent happy hour on Fridays. The Road, as it is commonly known, is a safe bet if you are looking for a good time with jazz, blues and R&B live. Other trendy places to visit in Downtown include the Blackbird Ordinary outdoor cocktail bar, where you can play a board game and enjoy a craft cocktail. One of the main places in Downtown Miami is the legendary giant Space Club. There you have to go in search of house, trance and techno music, and to dance until late at night.

For an incomparable selection of beers, visit Democratic Republic of Beer (DRB, for short) and then head to The Vagabond for a trendy atmosphere and a multitude of elegant young residents. It is difficult to point out a single feature of the Downtown area. It is a great neighborhood with character and your emotions can change in every block. Downtown Miami night spots are varied, but always fun.

COCONUT GROVE

Do not forget Coconut Grove. The Grove is full of university bars ideal for a “mixological tour” and small local restaurants where you can sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Find a place to park or, better yet, take a taxi, and walk these popular charming alleys with locals of all ages. The Sandbar Sports Grill has long been a favorite place where you will find cheap beer and fish tacos, while on the roof of the Mayfair Hotel offers an ortent atmosphere for cocktails and a spectacular view of Biscayne Bay. CocoWalk has long been a place for night meetings. Here you will find popular chains like Fat Tuesday. Monty’s Raw Bar is the right place to find music, happy hour and a seaside atmosphere in Miami. Catch the breeze of the bay in Monty’s, enjoy an ice cold beer mug with your friends and listen to DJ music while watching the locals and tourists relax and have fun.

From South Beach to Coconut Grove, Miami’s nightlife neighborhoods offer something for everyone. Whether you want to dance, visit a coffee shop or relax by the bay, there is a place at night in Miami that meets the conditions. Miami’s nightlife reputation is well deserved. The Magic City offers a surprising range of nightlife spots, so have fun and let the party begin!
